(2.3).ขิด หรือ เส้นด้ายพุ่งพิเศษที่เสริมติดต่อกันไป คือกระบวนการของการส่งเส้นด้ายเสริมเข้าไปในสิ่งทอของการทอผ้าพื้น เพื่อสร้างลวดลายที่ปรากฎบนพื้นผิวผ้าของการทอ

ผ้าแพรวาที่มีคุณภาพจะมีความแตกต่างในแต่ละส่วน ผ้าไหมจากภุมิภาคนี้ปรกติสีของเส้นไหมที่ใช้จะประกอบด้วย สีน้ำตาลแดง เขียว น้ำตาล ส้ม เทา น้ำเงิน เหลือง ดำ และ ขาว และลวดลาย(หลายๆรูปทรงศิลปะอันสลับซับซ้อน) กับการสร้างบล็อกของการออกแบบดอกไม้, ตัวรูปพญานาค&พญาหงส์ และวัตถุ ถูกทำในผ้าทออันยอดเยี่ยม

>> In the past, Phu Tai(or Phu Thai), an ethnic group that mainly lived in the area near Laos-China border. They were mostly located in Thang and Lai Provinces in the Sip Song Ju Thai region. Later in the year 1767(พ.ศ.2310), the Phu Tai(or Phu Thai) people moved from the Sip Song Ju Thai region to the Northeastern region of Thailand. Firstly, they settled in the area near the Phu Phan mountains, where the main group. After that, they were scattered around the flat plain of the Sakolnakorn plateau. A group of Phu Tai(or Phu Thai) people at Phon Village in Kalasin Province which is one of Phu Tai(or Phu Thai) communities in the Northeastern region of Thailand. Nowadays, they still dwell as their ancestors did in past which evidenced though their language, clothing, and weaving. Phu Tai(or Phu Thai) women living in this area generally weave silk fabrics called " Prae-Wa ". Prae-Wa, a pattern of complex motifs which is created with three different kinds of weaving techniques, including koh or luang(the tapestry-based technique), khid(also called continuous supplementary weft) and jok(also known as discontinuous supplementary weft). It is generally known as " Prae-Wa ".

(1.1).Koh or Luang(also called the tapestry-based technique) is a kind of weaving technique. A weaver uses a wood or fingers to pick up the warp yarns and then she adds periodically the weft yarns in many colors under them from one side to another side along the direction of the weft yarns, but discontinue through the width of cloth(or fabric). A hook and dove-tail are used to bond around the warp yarns(also called the tapestry-based technique).

(2.1).Khid, a kind of weaving technique is done by the local loom. A weaver uses the reel hook(ตระขอเครื่องม้วนเส้นด้าย) to pick up the warp yarns(กลุ่มเส้นด้ายตามยาว) and then she inserts a shuttle(กระสวยเครื่องทอผ้า) under them from one side to another side along the direction of the weft yarns(กลุ่มเส้นด้ายตามขวาง). Continuous Supplementary Weft : Khit (or Khid) is the process of placing a supplementary yarn into the web of plain weaving in order to create a pattern that floats on the surface of the weave. (3.1). Jok (also known as discontinuous supplementary weft) is a kind of weaving technique. A weaver uses the wood of hedgehog spin or fingers to pick up the warp yarns and then she adds periodically the supplementary weft yarn under them from one side to another side along the direction of the weft yarns, but discontinue through the width of cloth. The result reveal the very difficult of this weaving technique.
